Definition of Insanity: Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results...

Our mission changed after conducting client reviews in 2002. If you don't remember, this was the aftermath of the dot com bubble. The S&P 500 lost 22% that year. I remember reviewing accounts with clients where we used outside managers to make the investment decisions for our accounts. Exactly as we had been taught from our 'Wall St." firms. Returns for most accounts were approximately -18%. I distinctly remember praising the managers for beating the indexes, exactly what we had hired them to do, right? Wrong! My clients weren't excited about losing 1/5 of their hard earned money.

That's when I knew I had to make a change. There had to be a better way. I couldn't continue managing client money like everyone else. I had to be better.

I couldn't continue this same strategy... and expect different results.
